I enjoy living in Crested Butte, slashing the gnarly terrain on the resort, as well as venturing into the vast backcountry. I have a blast competing in big mountain competitions. Nothing is better than riding a wicked line, turning around and watching somebody else crush an even sicker line, getting inspired and skiing an even more fun line next lap. Growing up ski racing on the East coast, I learned to appreciate a good turn and going fast. The west has taught me how to go big and appreciate the face shot. My favorite color is orange. Beach strolls are nice.
Ashley grew up ski racing in Utah. These days, she loves to explore the steeps at Crested Butte and the nearby backcountry. Her ski of choice is the Romp 115 Model in a 180 cm length with a medium flex, flat underfoot, and tip and tail rocker. Her version of the Romp 115 caters to her racing background with excellent carving ability, while remaining quick and nimble in tight trees.
Jay has been a sponsored skier for 20 years and has traveled the world skiing for photo and video shoots, for magazine articles, and for plenty of just plain fun. Jay has been big mountain skiing and ski touring / mountaineering since the 1990’s, and some highlights include an attempt on Denali, descents throughout Europe, a first descent on Pyramid Peak in Colorado, and uncountable missions into the backcountry around Crested Butte. Currently, his favorite days are those he spends out skiing with his wife, Crista, and 2 year old son, Ryder.
Gus loves being in the mountains and surrounding himself with his friends and family. He lives for skiing deep powder in the backcountry and on the resort. In the summer you can find Gus ripping singletrack on the awesome trails in Crested Butte that is his home
I like to ski and play volleyball, I’ve been competing since 2015. My favorite subject in school is history and my favorite foods are mac n’ cheese and cherry tomatoes.
“I am currently a 15 year old student in Crested Butte Colorado and Freeskier on the Crested Butte Mountain Sports Team. I am in a minority however, the Telemark Skiing minority. I have won the National Big Mountain Telemark Championship two times. 1st 2015 (12-14). 1st 2017 (15-18). Nothing pumps me up more than representing the Telemark Skiing community on a talented Ski Team such as Romp.”
I compete in junior Freeride comps on the CBMST. I’m 15 years old and a sophomore at Crested Butte Community School. In the summer you can find me biking or playing beats at KBUT. If you run into someone wearing a Jammy Pack it’s probably me.
Nolan Blunck was born and raised on the technical slopes of Crested Butte, Colorado. Throughout middle school and high school, he competed on the Junior Freeskiing Tour which allowed him to ski some of the best ski resorts in North America. After graduating high school in 2012, Nolan made a move to Bozeman, Montana to major in Film and Photography at Montana State University and minor in skiing at Bridger Bowl University. Four and a half years later, Blunck has completed his schooling and is now making his way into the ski industry as a photographer / cinematographer.
