The 86 Custom
$1,050.00 – $1,450.00
The 80 is a ski for those days when the snow isn’t quite so soft. This ski is equally at home ripping down steep hard off piste terrain as carving ruts into the groomers. We recommend it with traditional camber under foot and a flat tail. It can be made with some early rise in the tip if you intend to ski it mostly in the rough stuff.
Countervail® is a patented carbon fiber vibration canceling material. Countervail® developer, Materials Sciences Corporation, says “testing has shown vibration damping values (2x or more) greater than other traditional vibration damping solutions used in composite constructions.” Countervail® allows Romp Skis to custom tailor the flex and damping of a ski to the specific needs of a customer, enabling ease of turning on hard snow, increased edge hold, reduced fatigue, and a more enjoyable skiing experience overall.
Ultra Light Carbon Fiber could be costly to produce but when it comes to high strength-to-weight ratio it is one of the best products on the market. It reduces the weight of your skis drastically while still allowing Romp Skis to tune the flex pattern of your skis for your individual skiing style. Ultra light core materials further lighten these skis.
Triaxial Fiberglass – the Standard Build for a Romp Custom Ski is a poplar core with torsionally rigid triaxial fiberglass composite reinforcement. The Romp Skis Designers can then tune the flex, camber, and rocker of the skis by using carbon fiber and many different press configurations. Our Standard Build creates a lively ski that is still damp and forgiving.
