About Dolan Geiman
Working from his studio in Denver, Colorado, Geiman acts as a scavenger of forgotten objects—carefully curating vintage paper, reclaimed wood, and salvaged metal to create layered signature original narratives. By combining traditional painting and sculpture with intricate collage techniques, he transforms discarded materials into highly textured, modern assemblage artwork. From small-batch archival prints to statement mixed-media originals, Geiman’s work is built for collectors who value the hand of the maker and an authentic Western identity.

Rugged and raw, Smoke is a cowboy defined by an icy gaze, a strong jawline, and a formidable mustache. This original work uses a loose illustrative style that blends raw sketchbook elements with intricate paper collage. Standing tall with a cigarette in hand, he wears a well-worn chocolate and espresso work shirt layered under a vintage navy vest detailed with pheasants and foliage. A pearl-handled pistol wedged in his belt completes the silhouette, which is crafted from hand-cut vintage papers and finished with acrylic paint on wood. This rebel captures the independent spirit and unpolished grit of the American West.

Anticipation builds as curtain time draws near and strains of guitar ring out against the din of the gathered crowd. A contemporary mixed media work celebrating the creators and lovers of country and western music, Soundcheck swirls with the movement of a buzzing audience. Each character is cut by hand from vintage, reclaimed materials swiped from roadsides and abandoned highway rest stops between Texas and Colorado. Hand-painted and arranged to evoke the controlled chaos of concert-going, each individual character offers the
opportunity to imagine a story, a life one waiting to be returned to on the other side of this musical event.
